What to Do If You’re Stuck
This week I’ve been working on a new project. For the first time in fifteen years of speaking, I’m taking over my resource table. I’ve always ordered through Proverbs 31 Ministries as a part of our team until now, but we’re all switching to doing our own.
It’s a new adventure for which I’m grateful, but it’s been a HARD process. Much harder than I thought! I’ve had to:
- Learn the ordering system through my publishers
- Develop some of my own products with an artisan
- Create my own signage
- And don’t even get me started on sales tax… UGH. Not my strong suit.
There have been many moments when I’ve wanted to throw up my hands and quit. I felt stuck.
Thankfully, I had people around me with experience who have been willing to help. My CPA sent me articles about authors and finances. Tonya Kubo, our social media coordinator and resident techie, is helping me update PayPal. My speaker friends have shared their systems and spreadsheets. I’m incredibly thankful for these resources because I know I couldn’t have done it alone. (Or it would have taken me ten times as long!)
What do you do when you’re stuck?
That question is the reason that I founded Next Step Coaching Services. I know how hard it is to be in ministry with zero outside help and resources. I remember what it feels like to be alone and confused. Until you’ve had time to build a community of others in speaking and writing, it can feel frustrating.
Melanie and I were talking the other day about how much we delight helping others in ministry, and we want to take a few minutes to remind you of the resources right here on our site at your fingertips.
The Blog
I’ve been blogging here for almost 8 years, so I’ve tackled almost every speaker-y question that you might have. Melanie and others have created a rich library for writers too.
If you’re stuck, take a few minutes to use the search feature on the blog, found in the sidebar on the right. Typing in key words there will lead you directly to content that will help you get un-stuck.
Also, on our homepage, there’s a library of the last four posts in each category. Visit there to see what’s new and what you might have missed.
Our Coaching
As you can see from the list above, our heart’s desire is to create help for speakers and writers with every budget.
Melanie and I really love personalized coaching, though. It’s our favorite thing to hear and read your stories and to work with you individually. Read what some of our clients have to say, and fill out the Request Consultation Form to set up a free consultation call today to see if coaching is for you.
“I came to Next Step Coaching with zero experience in message development. Amy came alongside me and guided me each step of the way. She skillfully quelled my anxiety about being a novice and coached me through producing my first message.” ~Samara Wallace
Mostly, we want to THANK YOU for being part of this community! If there’s any way we can serve you, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Note: Melanie will be taking a short sabbatical from coaching through June 1. If you’d like a referral for editing services, please leave a note for Melanie here, and choose “Question About Writer Services.”
