  1. I’m in! I love the podcasts on Grit n’ Grace that dove into this and I adore your tender, grace-filled heart for this topic. So thankful to have you as a fellow learner.

I’m so happy to have you beside me, Jenn!

  2. Oh Amy. I see and hear your tender heart and desire to heed God’s call. I am excited and perhaps a little anxious. So much of what you are sharing resonates deep within me. Looking forward to sharing this journey with you. God bless you.

    1. Amy Carroll says:

I’m so glad you’re traveling this road with me, Kathryn!

  3. YAY! Way to go!! Praying for you….because, yes, its scary out here in this work. But if more of us are creating space for healthy dialogue, love will overwhelm fear and things will be a lot less scary…still challenging but not so scary.

    Shalom to you.

    1. Amy Carroll says:

Encouragement from you fuels my fire! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by. I’m proud to be following in your footsteps on this journey.

  4. If we are already a subscriber to your blog, do we need to “resubscribe” for the new direction?

    1. Amy Carroll says:

Thanks for asking, Deanna! You don’t have to make any additional changes. At some point, the look of the website will change, but that will come later.

  5. Amy,

I love your authentic spirit and desire to go where God is leading. I can’t wait to be a part of this community to learn Biblical principals to know how to respond to some of the issues in today’s world. Thank you for being brave and for leading this very tender and important mission. I have so much respect and admiration for you not only just for this project but for you in general as I know your heart is to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Looking forward to this new direction.

  6. Virginia Smith says:

    Dear Amy,
What a blessing this morning, October 4, to learn of your direction towards a more tender heart and a stronger voice. I have been saving those emails that I knew might uplift me since Hurricane Florence first appeared to be heading to my house. Now she has come and gone, electricity and Internet are restored, my local women’s bible study is meeting today, and I may learn from Amy Carroll how to better serve our Lord and Savior.
    I cannot wait!

  7. Gail Marie says:

I don’t see a place to con firm this study

  8. Amy I can’t wait for this. I know you’ve put much time and prayer into this. It’s always scary to do something big and new for God, but you’re entering into it with a lot of discernment I can tell. I want to learn more from others and I’m excited to see where this goes and how God works through you!

    1. Amy Carroll says:

Thanks so much for your encouragement and support, Amanda. Big hugs to you!

  9. Hi Amy,
Hoping you remember me! This message spoke to me on so many levels this morning as I sit here in Ottawa, Canada knowing that so many of us here need this message and this new direction God is leading you in!
tender hearts/strong voices is a beautiful spirit filled tagline.
I want to learn with you!
    Teri

    1. Amy Carroll says:

Of course I remember you! I think you were my first international client. 🙂 So thankful you’re walking this road with me. Thank you!!

    1. Amy Carroll says:

Yes He is! I treasure your friendship.

  13. Thank you for sharing this! I am excited for where God is leading you. I know I need some encouragement with this department. I do not watch the news because I get too upset and It is better for me not to. In the same time I know I can’t protect myself from everything bad going on around myself. Plus…I need to teach my young kids how to deal in this world. So yes….I will definitely keep hanging on with you and learn what God is teaching you.
And I love the new tagline….And that is what I am working on right now too….my heart and how to show love to others. I am not the one to speak out at all…But I know I have to do it at times, as a girl after God’s own heart.
Praying for you – Be strong and courageous. 🙂

    1. Amy Carroll says:

I totally get it. I think I’m going to have to find a balance with the news too. Thanks, Gabriela, for your encouragement!

    1. Amy Carroll says:

I’m thankful we’re in this together, Melissa!

    1. Amy Carroll says:

Your encouragement means the world, Laura! (And I’m so glad we got a chance to meet face to face this summer.)

  15. So excited to go on this journey with you!! Thank you for your honesty and vulnerability. It is a scary place but it will be a beautiful experience where we will connect to who Jesus is and experience His power as we have these honest conversations.

    1. Amy Carroll says:

You, my friend, are a big part of seeing where God is sending me. Thank you for sticking with me in everyday life too!

Count me in! I’m with you.
    Love always,
    Cindy

    1. Amy Carroll says:

Oh, thank you, Cindy! You encourage me!

  17. Amy, as soon as I saw your subject line, “Will You Go a New Direction with Me?”, I knew the answer was YES. It’s Amy Carrol. I trust her, I trust her heart, I trust her message.

Thank you so much for sharing your heart by way of video. You spoke directly to me in a very powerful way. I really appreciated you sharing the back story and your conviction and courage with a tender heart and strong voice.

It helped me greatly to hear you (and many others) share how God is moving them in a different direction in their ministry. A way that didn’t come quick and easy, but took time and required much grit. I’m in that non-passive “waiting time” as I seek what God has next for me. I prefer to move forward, but your words encouraged me that I am on the right path.

Yes, I am with you and applaud you, dear one.

    2 questions.

    1. I am already a subscriber, do I need to subscribe again?

    2. Just curious, do you happen to know your Enneagram number? There’s some things that you shared that peeked my curiosity there.

    Thank you Amy!

    1. Amy Carroll says:

Mary Lou, your comments brought tears to my eyes. Yesterday’s hearings and all the ensuing chaos were hard on my heart and made me doubt a little. It wasn’t intentional to release today’s video in the aftermath, but I think our whole nation would treasure a little silence at this point. 🙂

It means more than you can imagine to have you traveling this journey with me. You don’t have to resubscribe, but thanks for asking. I’m sure some others wonder too.

I laughed when I read your Enneagram question. I took the test a couple of weeks ago, and I got some strange results that I don’t think are accurate. I think I threw my own test–lol! I’ll take it again and let you know.

      1. Amy, I can’t even begin to tell you what your words right here mean to me. Thank you for blessing me again today dear one.

  18. Vickie Bennett says:

Everyday, at every turn, we are inundated with discussions everywhere on topics that people are passionate about, have opinions on, and unfortunately are divided over. There seems to be less and less places we can go to escape it. What if we just want to learn about Jesus and be a part of a community of women who want the same thing? A place where we can share our hearts of the ups and downs of our daily lives as mothers, wives, and daughters of Jesus.

    Deep, deep sigh……

    1. Amy Carroll says:

Vickie, thank you for being so honest. Your response is exactly why I made the video because I understand that some folks that have been part of this community might opt out at this point. It’s really ok.

I would encourage you to hang on for a few weeks of blog posts, but if at that point you decide that you feel the content isn’t what you need, please don’t hesitate to unsubscribe. I get it. I really do. We can still be friends. 🙂

  19. So exciting!!!! Love rhis & praying for you & this comminity. Sign me up — this is so nedded.

    1. Amy Carroll says:

Thanks for the encouragement, Lyli! Big hugs to you.

  20. Thank you for your courage to step into the messy middle. I also am most comfortable not stepping into the messy. And I also just try to tune out all of the spewing hateful dialogue that flows so freely and hurts with such verosity. Thanks for offering me your hand to come with you. I look forward to the next step (I think..haha).

    1. Amy Carroll says:

Lol! I’m a little unsure too. Thanks for being willing to give this journey a shot!

  21. Thank you for sharing your heart with us. God is teaching you to seek His heart in all things and now you are being obedient to share what He is teaching. I look forward to seeing/hearing how He is impacting you. I will be praying for you as you step out in faith and obedience.

    1. Amy Carroll says:

Thanks so much, Allyson! Having you on this journey with me means the world. I lean on your prayers!

  22. Good Morning Amy, from one North Carolina girl to another. I enjoy your videos because I get to see the passion in your expressions of how excited you are about your new journey. I have read many of your devotions and also have your Breaking Up With Perfect book. You have a tremendous passion in missions as well. With that being said, I have watched you grow in your relationship with the Lord and learned from you. It is scary to take that step out of our comfort zone. Actually, forget the step, it is terrifying at times when we take a “huge leap of faith” and trust God that his plan is better than ours. I will say by my life’s experiences that when we stay in God’s Word and be obedient, God will always give us the words to say (we are God’s mouthpiece) and protect us. I pray that God blesses you mightily, gives you his words and provides a hedge of protection all around you. Proverbs 19:21 keeps coming to my mind while typing this. Looking forward to hearing more about where God is taking you. ~Lisa~

    1. Amy Carroll says:

Lisa, thanks for being willing to take this leap of faith with me! I love how God uses the sisterhood to build courage.
